During the month of October, we will be studying spider and how they make webs. Here is a great project to do at home:
- Cut out the center of a large lid so only the ring remains.
- Tie one end of the yarn to the ring. Tape or glue the yarn to the edge of the lid.
- Loop the yarn tightly and evenly around the ring, until you return to the first loop.
- Loop the yarn strand under and through the first set of loops to create a second row.
- Continue adding rows of loops moving towards the center of the ring.
- When you reach the center of the web, knot the yarn, cut it off and glue or tape it in place.
- Glue a plastic spider to the center know if you wish and bring to school to share.
The spider webs will be displayed in the front windows!
